Hello there.

I had my 57th language exchange in Tokyo on October 13th.

Do you have any superstitions about years? As I said before, October 13th is my birthday so the theme is “Unlucky years.” It's up to you if unlucky years is believable or not. I've come to believe in unlucky years because my health have been getting worse in the past 2 years. So I got exorcised in a shrine at the beginning of the last year but I'm not sure the exorcism worked. 

All of participants at the meetup did't believe in it. Nothing happened to them in their unlucky years. I'm jealous of them. 

 In Japan, there are some superstitions about days and years. What about your area? Do you have any superstitions about years?

みなさんの住む国や地域には、年に関する迷信はありますか？ 

何度も言いましたが、土曜日は僕の誕生日です。 ということで、今回のテーマは｢厄年｣でした。

 信じるか信じないか、は本人次第なんですが、意外と皆さん信じてらっしゃらないようでした(^_^;) 

僕も信じない方だったんですけど、ここ二、三年の体調の悪さはきっと厄年のせいだなと思うようになり、去年のお正月には厄払いまでやってみたんだけど、払われたのかどうなのか… 

日本には日や年に関する迷信や言い伝えがいくつかありますが、あなたの国や地域はどうですか？ 

あったら教えてくださいね。
