さあ、新しい元号は、何になるでしょうか？

New 元号（げんごう, Gengo）is being announced Today, on April 1st at 11:30 AM in Japan time which is Japan's original name of ages. 明治（めいじ, Meiji）、大正（たいしょう, Taisho）、昭和（しょうわ, Showa）、平成（へいせい, Heisei） and what's going to be the next? 

The Gengo is changed by death of Japanese emperor and it means new emperor accedes to throne basically. This time is a special case. The present emperor is going to abdicate the throne to the prince at May 1st. One month before, it means today, the new Gengo is supposed to be unveiled. It shows the new age of Japan will finally start.

And the new Gengo is just starting from May 1st. So How ages will it be?

日本時間の今日、4月1日午前11時30分に、平成の次となる新しい元号が発表されます。

元号とは、日本独自の年の数え方で、明治、大正、昭和、平成と続いてきました。時代の大きな変化のたびに変更されてた元号ですが、明治からは新しい天皇陛下が即位されるたびに元号が改められることが決まりました。

通常は、今の天皇陛下が崩御されたら皇太子殿下が新しい天皇陛下に即位され、それと同時に新しい元号が発表されるのですが、今回は特別に今の天皇陛下から皇太子殿下へ、5月1日に譲位されることになりました。

その1か月前である今日、今の平成の次の元号が発表されるのです。それは日本の新しい始まりを意味します。

これを読んでくださったみなさんも、日本の新しい表す元号の発表を楽しんでいただけたらと思います。

そして、5月1日にその新しい元号が始まります。
