I organized a language exchange event vol.64.
気軽に立ち寄れる、ふらっと英会話カフェ Vol.64を開催しました。
2 people came in spite of the rainy season.
梅雨にもかかわらず、2人の方が来てくださいました。
We didn't have any themes but we went nuts over talking.
今回はテーマを決めずにお話をしましたが、かなり話が膨らみ盛り上がりました。
One of the participants was raised in US till middle school, we were talking about education, especially the differences between history classes in Japan and the US.
参加者の一人が幼少から中学校までをアメリカで過ごした方でしたので、日本とアメリカの教育、特に今回は歴史教育の違いについて話をしました。
We certainly study our own country's history because we each have our original history.
歴史の授業では当然、自国の歴史から習いますよね。
歴史の長さは国によって様々です。
Japan's history is very long, which is why the history class I was discontent with the history classes I had taken and I don't recall taking modern and current history classes very much.
そんな中、日本の歴史はとても長く、そのためなのか一つ一つの密度は低く、近現代史についてはほとんど習った記憶がありません。
I think the modern and current history is most important for me now but at the time I didn't like the history classes. It was really boring.
近現代史こそもっとも大事だと今なら思いますが、当時はとにかく歴史の授業が苦手でした。
