I organized a language exchange event vol.63 for beginners and intermediates.
初～中級者向けじっくり英会話カフェ Vol.63を開催しました。
3 people came in the rain and one of them was an American friend of mine.
本日は雨の中、3人の方は来てくださいました。前回同様、今回もアメリカ人の友人が一人、来てくれました。
The theme was “Good hotels and bad hotels.”
さて今回のテーマは「良いホテル、悪いホテル」でした。
There is a variety of hotels in the world which are cheap, expensive and have different styles. And as you know, there are motels in US as well.
世界には安いホテルから超高級ホテルまで、そして様々なスタイルがありますよね。そのなかで、アメリカの「モーテル」というのがありますよね。
Speaking of motels, it remainds me of the TERMINATOR or some American movie.
僕はモーテルというと、「ターミネーター」とかのアメリカ映画がまっさきに思い浮かびます。
Some guys that are trying to escape from their enemy stay at a motel, and the ememy appears and do mass shootings.
敵から逃げる主人公たちがモーテルに身を潜め、そしてそこに必ず現れる敵、そして銃をぶっ放すという。
The American friend also has a bad impression of motels. I guess the motels are cheap not clean and has no securty.
アメリカ人の友人も、アメリカのモーテルには悪いイメージがあるようです。たしかにあまりキレイではなくセキュリティの不安もありますが、安く泊まることができます。
I don't like a hotel without bathtubs. I really want to relax in a bathtub but when i was in Europe, most hotels had only shower, no bathtubs.
僕はバスタブの無いホテルが好きじゃないですが、ヨーロッパを回っていたときはシャワーしか付いていないホテルが多かったです。
How about hotels in your country? Is it only Japanese want to relax in bathtubs? What about you?
あなたの国のホテルはどうですか？
湯船に浸かってリラックスするのは、やっぱり日本人独特なんでしょうか？みなさんはどうですか？
